Spencer Neitz - System Integration Engineer demonstrates how Velocity Preservation can be used to quickly create high-velocity sinusoidal damper test profiles. Once created, these high-velocity profiles can be incorporated into any damper test sequence and run on that specific servo hydraulic test system without having to re-tune system PID gains.
|Velocity Preservation employs a virtual model of the damper test system to compensate for servo hydraulic system nonlinearities and achieve the smooth, low-distortion actuation needed to test accurately at very high velocities.
Using an iterative, feed-forward process, desired sinusoidal waveforms are cycled through the virtual and physical test systems to converge upon an optimized command profile capable of meeting high velocity targets while maintaining optimal waveform fidelity.
