Newly re-engineered electric damper performance test systems integrate an array of customer-driven innovations, improving test integrity, expanding system utility, and increasing operational efficiency and safety.
EMA (Electro-Magnetic Actuation) Systems are renowned for their high-fidelity damper performance testing, efficient operation, and compact footprint. Featuring highly responsive linear electric actuators, they deliver the superior capabilities and data accuracy that damper manufacturers and vehicle OEMs demand. Newly re-engineered EMA Gen 2 systems build on this proven performance with an array of customer-driven mechanical and software innovations, improving test integrity, expanding system utility, and increasing operational efficiency and safety.

Available in 9, 18 and 27 kilonewton models, new Gen 2 load frames feature a more robust, higher quality, and easier-to-maintain design. A redesigned actuator bearing provides more consistent performance over a longer life. Larger end stop bumpers absorb greater impact forces, preventing actuator damage.
Versatile FlexTest® controllers are now standard on EMA Gen 2 systems, expanding testing capabilities and harmonizing lab training and maintenance. Also standard, full-featured MTS Damper software provides the flexibility to pursue a broader spectrum of damper performance testing.
EtherCAT communications and a compact, front-access drive cabinet with a broader voltage range streamline installation and setup and minimize footprint, making EMA systems ideal for both test lab and proving ground trailer deployment.
