Testing New Materials Used in Fuel Systems

Cryogens can be used as fuel, propellants or coolants in fuel systems. Testing is essential to make sure that materials coming in to contact with cryogens during storage, transport and use are suitable for cryogenic environments.

MTS provides solutions for evaluating material behavior in cryogenic conditions at atmospheric pressure.

Measuring High Strain Rates

Simulating material behavior during high impact events such as crashes or munitions explosions requires a system that can replicate the amount of kinetic energy required to break the specimen, the needed strain rate and the force at velocity.

The design and configuration of a high-performance, high-rate test system requires complex modeling to fully characterize the dynamic response, and MTS software can deliver the system performance needed to accurately simulate material behavior during high-impact events.
