Six Degree-of-Freedom and Custom Seismic Simulators
Advanced shake tables for precisely replicating seismic events
MTS six degree-of-freedom (6DOF) seismic simulators offer a sophisticated, proven means of replicating seismic conditions in the test lab. These compact shake tables are fit easily in space-restricted environments, and they accommodate a wide range of specimen sizes and dynamic motion requirements.
To evaluate specimens that are either too large for other simulators or require fewer degrees of freedom, MTS offers special-purpose seismic simulators. These simulators often provide an economical alternative to a 6DOF system.
Because seismic research is constantly evolving, MTS also offers custom systems. Recent examples include a 2DOF, multiple-simulator system for testing multi-span bridge structures, and a one-of-a-kind uniaxial solution for testing full-scale wood wall structures.
All of these systems integrate seamlessly with state-of-the-art MTS FlexTest® control technology and Seismic Control Software, featuring an intuitive user interface for system tuning, test setup and operation, and data acquisition.
