Component Characterization
Component characterization involves the application of one or more forces to evaluate the force-to-velocity relationship of dampers, shock absorbers, struts and other automotive components and subcomponents under development. Such tests frequently incorporate environmental chambers to simulate a range of real-world operating temperatures. Engineers commonly use the resulting test data for model validation purposes.
With more than four decades of global automotive testing industry expertise, MTS offers an unmatched portfolio of technology and support for the precise measurement and characterization of vehicle components and subcomponents, enabling developers, suppliers and contract test labs to bring higher-performing designs to market faster and for less money. Our solutions offer superior accuracy and repeatability, with highly intuitive software that helps to optimize operator productivity. Other MTS capabilities relevant to component characterization include:
• Versatile and user-friendly software with powerful test design capabilities, featuring
