Pressurization
Pressurization of the specimen is essential for aerospace structural testing. However, pressurization channels present much different challenges than servohydraulic channels. When one part of the structure is pressurized, the volume of compressible air will leak. Special care must be taken to protect lab teams from the potentially dangerous levels of energy stored in the structure. Controllers must be extremely flexible to manage pressurization properly.
MTS is an industry leader in all varieties of static and fatigue testing for aerospace structures and components. Working with a diverse mix of aerospace manufacturers, we have gained the experience and expertise necessary to guide your tests for maximum speed and accuracy. We also offer a structural pressure test controller (SPTC) designed to provide pressurized air control of cyclic pressure tests. Features of this technology include:
• Manages test structure pressure in proportion to command signals or manual
settings
• Easy test configuration and setup
• Compatibility with MTS controllers and data acquisition systems
• Integrated design with all controls and gages located on a convenient front panel
• Manual control mode for test setup or static pressure testing
• Over-pressure circuit prevents damage or hazards from excessive structure pressure
• Flow capacity to 7700 scfm at 120 psi supply pressure
• Pilot pressure filter prevents contamination of SPTC operating elements
