Air Loads Calibration
Air loads calibration is done prior to flight testing. By applying known load conditions with actuators to a fully instrumented aircraft, test teams can calibrate strain gages, resolve responses to known conditions and map predictions against actual output. All of this improves the accuracy of flight test data. For military training aircraft that are permanently instrumented, air loads calibration may be performed regularly to optimize data accuracy.
