Propulsion Systems Testing
Propulsion systems testing focuses on the pylon, one of the most specialized structures on any airframe due to the enormous loads it must be able to withstand, as well as the contingencies it must protect against (such as engine seizure or engine fire). Propulsion system testing typically applies very high loads using customized, actuator-driven test rigs. These rigs vary according to the pylon’s material, size and placement of connections, braces and firewall.
