Interior Component Testing

Interior component testing involves all the elements that make up the interior of commercial aircraft, including seats, partitions, window covers, stow bins, lavatories, galleys and more. Interiors are the most flexible part of the aircraft’s design, in terms of how these elements can be configured. Some tests are simple pass/fail setups that evaluate the component’s normal service conditions (abuse loads) or crash conditions (crash loads), depending on the nature of the component. Other tests, particularly those for seats, can be very complex, involving crash loading (16 G dynamic pulse) an aircraft floor section with attached seats, seat tracks and crash test dummies.
