Introducing the Durability-capable ePost Tire-coupled Road SimulatorMTS recently completed development of a new line of durability-capable Model 320 ePost systems, significantly expanding the application scope of the electrically actuated segment of its Model 320 Tire-coupled Road Simulator (4-poster) portfolio.
New ePost systems employ proprietary, MTS-designed linear electric actuators to meet the requirements of a full range of passenger car and truck test applications, including Durability; Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH); Buzz, Squeak and Rattle (BSR); and Inline Production Quality. Optimized for rigorous durability drive files, these high-performance actuators feature lightweight armatures with liquid cooling and an advanced bearing system to maximize actuator life.
Model 320ePost actuators also enable reduced operating and maintenance costs and a cleaner, more eco-friendly simulation environment when compared to conventional servohydraulic 4-posters. A newly designed X-Y positioning system with pneumatic locks and a compact pneumatic reservoir add even more efficiency to ePost system operations.
New ePost systems are currently available in three models (320e.025, 320e.035, 320e.050), ranging in peak dynamic force capacity from 28 to 50 kN. To further augment the fidelity of durability studies, these systems can be integrated within environmental chambers for testing at temperatures ranging from -40F to 160F.
Like all Model 320 systems - electric or servohydraulic - new ePost systems integrate versatile FlexTest® digital controls and support a full array of MTS application software, including RPC® Pro, cRPC Pro, First Road™ Interact and MTS TestSuite™ software.
