MTS Offers Electrically-Actuated Damper Test and Road Simulator SolutionsMTS Systems Corporation recently acquired Roehrig Engineering, Inc. of Lexington, North Carolina - renowned innovator of electric actuation technology and leading provider of damper test systems and road simulators to NASCAR teams and the global automotive industry.
This acquisition entails immediate and substantial additions to both the MTS damper test and road simulator portfolios; including proven EMA and SYD Series damper test systems, ASR Series spring testers and ePost tire-coupled road simulators.
By incorporating electric actuation technology, these new additions feature low impact, portable designs that are suitable for both laboratory and track deployment. Relative to higher capacity servohydraulic systems, electric systems deliver cleaner, more energy-efficient operation and are quiet enough for inline production quality, NVH and BSR testing applications. Work is already underway to integrate industry-leading MTS application software and proven MTS controller technology into both the new damper and road simulator offerings.
MTS is committed to meeting the evolving spectrum of testing challenges facing the worldwide ground vehicles industry. The acquisition of electric actuation technology, products and expertise will enhance MTS’ ability to address growing industry demands for greener and more efficient solutions, while continuing to push the boundaries of mechanical test system performance and capability.
