Nissan Motor Company sought to glean deeper insight into vehicle subsystem performance at an earlier stage of development — even before the availability of a vehicle prototype. Meeting this goal would require combining the complementary strengths of computer-aided engineering (CAE) and physical testing.

Yoichi Sakai, Head Representative for System Development at Nissan Motor Co., discusses how his company partnered with MTS to develop an award-winning four-corner damping system using MTS Mechanical Hardware in the Loop™ (mHIL) technology. mHIL technology allows mechanical systems and components to be thoroughly evaluated during the preliminary stages of vehicle development, by placing them in the loop of a real-time vehicle model.
