MTS Introduces New Accessories for Biomedical Material and Component Testing

Affordable grips, fixtures and platens extend utility of Bionix® electromechanical and servohydraulic test solutions

Eden Prairie, Minn. – September 18, 2007
– MTS Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: MTSC) today announced the addition of several new components to its Bionix accessories line, extending the utility of Bionix electromechanical and servohydraulic load frame-based testing solutions. Comprising a variety of affordable grips, fixtures and compression platens, these new accessories will provide Bionix system users with a complete set of tools for conducting a full spectrum monotonic testing of biomaterials, medical device components and medical packaging and consumables.

“Establishing a high quality interface with specimens is one of the challenges to performing meaningful monotonic testing of biomaterials and components,” said Steve Trout, MTS application engineer. “The addition of new Bionix grips, fixtures and platens will provide labs with a wider choice of accessories to more effectively - and economically - engage a greater variety of specimens and better meet the requirements of specific tests.”

MTS Bionix Accessories are engineered from the highest quality materials to deliver accurate and efficient monotonic testing. A universal adapter design facilitates easy installation onto both electromechanical and servohydraulic MTS load frame systems, as well as other electromechanical frames. Optional threaded frame adapters further enhance installation versatility. Integrated anti-rotation features and alignment pins ensure testing accuracy and repeatability.

“The MTS Bionix family of solutions is designed to meet a full spectrum of mechanical testing and simulation needs, easily and affordably,” said Luther Johnson, MTS Bionix product manager. “The addition of new accessories extends the utility of the Bionix line and reinforces MTS’ status as a leading biomedical testing solutions supplier.”
