MTS Receives Tekne Award

Eden Prairie company recognized for technology innovation and leadership

Eden Prairie, Minn., October 27, 2006 - MTS Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: MTSC) today announced that it has been named the recipient of a 2006 Tekne Award in the Established Technology Services category for the development of the MTS Bionix® Spine Wear Simulator. Minnesota’s annual Tekne awards recognize companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.

The MTS Bionix Spine Wear Simulator is the first wear simulator on the market designed specifically for spinal applications. It enables orthopedic device manufacturers to perform highly accurate, long-term wear, fatigue and durability simulations on both lumbar and cervical spine disc implants.
