MTS Appoints Campbell as Director Eden Prairie, Minn., Sept. 11, 2003 - MTS Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: MTSC) announced today the appointment of Dugald (Dug) K. Campbell, 57, to the company’s Board of Directors. Campbell recently retired as president and CEO of Tower Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: TWR), a global supplier of automotive vehicle structures and assemblies based in Grand Rapids, MI. Campbell replaces Bruce Hertzke, chairman, president and CEO of Winnebago Industries, who resigned from the board in order to devote more time to Winnebago Industries. “We are delighted that Dug Campbell is joining our team,” said Sidney W. Emery, Jr., chairman and CEO of MTS. “Dug was the driving force in building Tower Automotive from its $60 million start in 1993 to a $2.8 billion plus enterprise with a worldwide presence. His knowledge of the automotive industry and experience as a board member will be of great benefit to MTS and its shareholders.” Prior to his tenure at Tower Automotive, Campbell served as a consultant to Hidden Creek Industries, Minneapolis, MN, from 1991 to 1993. He served as vice president and general manager of the Sensor Systems Division of Siemens Automotive from 1988 to 1991 and before that held various executive, engineering and marketing positions with Allied-Signal Automotive / Bendix Electronics. Campbell is also a director of J. L. French, Sheboygan, WI. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario.
