MTS Releases RPC® Pro 4.2 With Enhanced Reporting, Data Management And Durability Testing Funtionality For Increased Usability And Productivity
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - July 27, 2005 MTS Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: MTSC) today announced the release of RPC Pro 4.2, the latest version of its world-leading RPC Pro software for multi-axial, real-time laboratory road simulation and analysis.
RPC Pro 4.2 features enhanced reporting, durability testing and drive file development functionality. The software release gives users new tools to increase test laboratory productivity and more efficiently manage test data.
“Our continued focus with RPC Pro is to provide engineers the most efficient and effective tools available to reproduce, record and analyze damage caused by the road in a controlled laboratory environment,” said Darragh Murphy, durability software product manager for MTS. “With more and more pressures on test labs to increase productivity, we’ve incorporated new features into RPC Pro 4.2 that further standardize the test reporting process and improve the software’s overall usability.”
New Features in RPC Pro 4.2
• Easy-to-use, standardized test reporting — RPC Pro 4.2 provides users with a fully customizable, template-driven report generation tool set that can be standardized according to report requirements. The application is fully integrated into every aspect of the RPC process — from validation of road data, to analysis and editing, to drive file development and durability test reporting.
• Expanded durability testing functionality — RPC Pro 4.2 allows users greater freedom in defining controlled stopping points within the test schedule for inspection or analysis. Test sequence events allow the user to automatically incorporate analysis steps and test control steps into the durability sequence. For example, after a specific elapsed duration of testing, one can automatically perform calculations in support of degradation analysis. Alternatively, upon a test abort event, it is possible to automatically send an e-mail notifying the responsible party.
• Enhanced data management functionality when developing drive files — A new iteration cleanup wizard in RPC Pro 4.2’s Simulate application allows users to easily reduce the number of data files saved in a project after completing a set of test iterations. Users can select options to preserve the essential data files in case results need to be regenerated at a later date.
About RPC
The MTS family of Remote Parameter Control (RPC®) software has been helping vehicle makers bring test tracks into the laboratory for almost three decades, making it the industry standard for engineers worldwide since its first installation in 1974. RPC Pro software is used throughout the vehicle testing process in tandem with MTS mechanical testing systems to help engineers reproduce, record and analyze damage caused by the road in a controlled laboratory environment. RPC quickly and accurately reproduces the load environments of vehicles, sub-systems, and components in the laboratory. The greatest benefit provided by the RPC process is its accurate recreation of multi-axial time history parameters such as forces, strains, and displacements.
