Boeing Receives Initial Shipments of State of the Art MTS Test Data Acquisition Systems

Next-generation systems to be deployed for commercial aircraft programs

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Nov. 8, 2005 - MTS Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: MTSC) today announced that it has begun shipments of state-of-the-art test data acquisition systems totaling several million dollars, related to orders received by MTS last fiscal year. The systems, which comprise leading-edge MTS software and innovative new VXI Technology data acquisition hardware, will be used on structural ground-based tests for all commercial airplane programs.

“MTS offers the advanced solutions aircraft manufacturers need to meet their most complex and demanding test challenges,” said Sidney W. Emery, Jr., MTS chairman and chief executive officer. “The ability to deliver state-of-the-art technology and back it up with highly experienced service, support and consulting exemplifies MTS’ commitment to being the world’s leading supplier of mechanical testing solutions for aerospace product development.”

The new data acquisition platform combines MTS AeroPro™ software and new EX1629 data acquisition hardware to help Boeing realize gains in test functionality and accuracy from its existing MTS structural test control systems. System users will be able to leverage AeroPro data visualization capabilities to gain access to a wealth of test information – both in the test lab and remotely. The system’s integrated EX1629 unit will yield higher data resolution, support Transducer Electronic Data Sheets (TEDS), and provide an effective platform for employing advanced calculations.
