Various positions are available for students in Mechanical Engineering and Software Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering. These positions support MTS markets such as:  ground vehicles, aerospace, biomedical, materials or geo/civil. Opportunities are generally available through the year, with many positions commencing in the summer.

In general, we will consider candidates with Junior-standing in an engineering discipline who possess the following:

• Excellent team and leadership skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (preference)

“My summer internship at MTS was a fantastic experience. The size of the company is small enough where, as an intern, I felt that the projects I worked on were meaningful and had a direct impact on the business, yet the company is large enough to offer the tools and resources an engineer needs to get the job done right. Unlike the three internships I have completed with other companies, the work I did while at MTS was technically challenging. The tasks I was assigned requiring me to use a wide variety of material I learned as a mechanical engineering student at Michigan Tech, ranging from heat transfer and fluid mechanics to mechanics of materials and machine design.
