Orthopaedic device researchers and manufacturers use MTS single- and multi-station hip testing solutions to examine hip stem fatigue, study bone cement, and test the strength, fatigue, and wear of basic materials.

Dynamic Test Systems
Use Bionix servohydraulic test systems to study material properties, joints and structures, surgical techniques, and wear on joint replacements and implants.  Bionix dynamic load frames are flexible and upgradeable, to accommodate varying levels of testing complexity.

Hip Test Fixtures
MTS offers a femoral fatigue testing fixture that works with Bionix servohydraulic load frames to meet ASTM and ISO test criteria for femoral stern components of hip replacements.  Also available for servohydraulic load frames is a four-degree-of-freedom hip wear simulation fixture designed for long term tests of hip replacement wear and fatigue.

Multistation Wear Simulators
Our compact Bionix Multistation Hip Wear Simulators provide long-term wear, fatigue, and durability tests of orthopaedic devices and related materials.  Bionix hip simulators allow for kinematic measurements such as extension/flexion, medial/lateral, and internal/external rotation.
