Learn an effective technique for reducing axial fatigue test system measurement uncertainty.

Material test engineers constantly strive to minimize how much they under-test or over-test specimens. The former compromises data validity; the latter wastes lab time and materials.

While all tests include some level of measurement uncertainty, conducting periodic dynamic calibrations provides the best means of reducing the uncertainty due to mass loading effects with axial fatigue test systems. Gary Dahlberg, MTS Service Quality/Metrology Manager, discusses an effective dynamic calibration technique.
