Learn about new compact Drivetrain Dynamometers from MTS that accurately simulate engine dynamics in a realistic test configuration.

Historically, drivetrain system suppliers have used dynamometers developed for the much larger engine testing market to complete their drivetrain tests. Powerful compact dynamometers designed specifically for the unique testing needs of drivetrain applications were unavailable.

Joe Strelow, product manager for Drivetrain Test Systems at MTS, discusses new permanent magnet dynamometers specifically designed for drivetrain manufacturers. The dynamometers feature the high power, compact size, dynamic properties and quiet operation necessary for efficient drivetrain testing—including noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) applications.
